Exciting opportunity for an experienced Scientist or post-Doc to join a leading Biopharmaceutical company that specialises in early-stage therapeutic development for neurological and immunological diseases.

As a Scientist you will join the Biomarker Assay Sciences group which is positioned within the Early Clinical Development & Translational Science (ECD&TS) department that completes research from target identification through to clinical studies.

As a subject matter expert, you will outsource clinical transcriptomics activities from a planning and technical perspective, spending around 60% of your time in the office. You will complete data analysis, quality control, data interpretation & reporting of pre-clinical and early-stage projects. Additionally, you will maintain an up to date knowledge of new and emerging technologies in the Biomarker & Transcriptomics fields. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of biomarker assays in the laboratory across the wider ECD & TS department.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A PhD in a related subject and industrial experience/post-Doc and or BSc/MSc and significant relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in Molecular Biology methods including RNA extraction, qPCR, primer and probe design & associated analysis
  • Excellent organisational and attention to detail skills
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical drug discovery and/or with a contract research organisation is highly advantageous
