Job title: Account Executive

Location: Newcastle

Purpose of the role:

Exciting opportunity to join a market leading broking organisation as they expand by opening their first branch in Newcastle. The role will see you assist in the success and growth of the branch, whilst developing strong client relationships, offering a professional and cost-effective commercial insurance broking service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop connections with prospective and fresh clientele to expand your portfolio within the mid/large/corporate insurance sector.
  • Tailor insurance packages to meet clients' specific needs. Collaborate with decision-makers, stakeholders, and insurers to deliver a cost-efficient brokering service.
  • Discover new sales prospects by leveraging both existing client relationships and networking opportunities, alongside your own market insights.
  • You'll also receive leads.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies and FCA regulations.
  • Scout suitable markets for placing corporate insurance risks.
  • Offer technical expertise and guidance to key clients.
  • Foster robust partnerships with insurers.
  • Craft market presentations and engage in negotiations with insurers.
  • Work alongside branch directors, client advisors, and risk managers to provide customized insurance solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records on Acturis

Experience:

  • A proven track record in commercial insurance B2B sales is essential, ideally within broking.
  • The ability to build robust business/client relationships.
  • A passion for working towards sales targets.
  • Confident in new business situations including networking, client meetings and presentations.
  • A comprehensive understanding of most classes of commercial insurance risk including property, motor, fleet, EL, PL, commercial combined, etc.  
  • Acturis experience would be preferred.
  • UK driving licence.
  • Progression towards achieving CII qualifications.
  • Experienced in developing business strategies, marketing campaigns and building pipelines and winning new business.
  • Strong presentations and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider team and contribute to the team.
  • Track record of building strong insurer and client relationship.
  • Acturis experience essential as well as being computer literate.
  • ACII qualifications or working towards preferred.
