Company Overview:

We are currently working with a leading Staffing and Recruitment company who are looking for a Credit Controller to join their Central London team. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and innovation, they are seeking a skilled Credit Controller to manage our financial processes effectively.

Position Overview:

As a Credit Controller, you will play a vital role in maintaining healthy cash flow by ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts from clients. This position requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chase overdue invoices via telephone, email, and letter within agreed timescales.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate prompt payment.
  • Negotiate payment plans and resolve queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices.
  • Conduct regular debtor reviews and provide accurate and timely reports to management.
  • Monitor and maintain credit limits, ensuring they are appropriate and adhered to.
  • Work closely with the sales and accounts receivable teams to resolve payment discrepancies and disputes.
  • Identify and escalate potential credit risks to minimize bad debt exposure.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes and contribute to the improvement of credit control procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of credit control procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software (e.g. Bullhorn, Zero).
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
