A fantastic opportunity has come up for a Marketing and Product Management Senior Manager to work for one of the worlds largest packaging companies which was founded in 1860. The company itself develops and produces flexible, cartons, closures, pharmaceutical, food & Beverage and other various packaging. They are seeking a Marketing specialist who can manage a team of 6 product and marketing specialists around the UK & Europe, but also help with the growth of the business through effective leadership and marketing strategy.

Marketing & Product Manager

£80,000 - £108,000  

Remote Based (UK Anywhere)

In return, the company is offering an opportunity to move into director level positions, 20-40% on the agreed annual salary, hybrid car or Car Allowance £600-£800, plus life insurance 6x salary, Private health care, Income Protection, 25 Days Holiday + Bank, Private Pension, Phone Laptop, Sick Pay and other benefits.

The role would suit someone who is able to manage a team of 6 across the UK & Europe, which includes marketing managers and product managers, be able to problem solve, have an approach to segment strategy, develop a long-term plan to overcome competitors, devise strategies and propositions that compel value, but also ensuring the product is recognisable for new and existing customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a 5-year strategy for account value chain dynamics, unmet needs and other organisational objectives.
  • Manage lead generation processes in conjunction with a team of 6.
  • Manage a team of 6 on a European scale and provide guidance in marketing and product management. This includes looking at product portfolios, lifecycles, phase-outs profitability and manufacturing processes.  
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Being responsible for-profit growth across the company, look at tactical product and marketing plans based of customer requirements/needs.
  • Proactively influence and coordinate with internal teams such as commercial, sales, R&D to look at market insights, regulatory, technical and commercial to deliver objectives.
  • Be creative and find alternative solutions to motive team members.
  • Work closely with sales to allocate resources for customer presentations, pricing, segment insights, but also ensuring that there is cross functional collaboration throughout.
  • Develop value propositions that target the needs of segment and customers.
  • Look at company capabilities and products against alternatives.
  • Developing and implementing SEO strategies
  • Optimising website content using on page, off page, and technical SEO skills, ensuring consistent brand identity and tone of voice

Who are they looking for?

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the wider marketing landscape and channels including UK or Europe – in an ideal world both.
  • 5 years’ experience in product or marketing management in an international matrix.
  • Demonstrated success in strategy planning, competitor analysis, product launches, value pricing, product life cycles and more.
  • Experience of managing a team of up to 4-6 people or more, whether that’s product or marketing.
  • Building and strengthening relationships with internal and external teams within the business
  • Success in building business cases for innovation and investments.
  • Product knowledge of flexibles or healthcare packaging products would be advantageous.
  • Fluent in English and additional languages such as: Spanish, German, Portuguese etc would also be advantageous but not necessary.
  • Someone who can think outside of the box and provide obvious solutions to complex issues.
  • Excel at speaking to key stakeholders and have the ability main strong business relationships.
