Position: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Location: Frome

Daily Rate: £85 - £95

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tailored Support: Provide individualised assistance to SEN students, adapting teaching methods to meet their unique learning needs.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised education plans and support students in reaching their full potential.
  • Engagement and Encouragement: Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere in the classroom, encouraging students to actively participate and grow in confidence.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor student progress and development, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management techniques to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Resource Utilisation: Utilise a range of educational resources and assistive technologies to enhance learning experiences for SEN students.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Passion for SEN: Demonstrated passion for supporting the educational and personal development of children with special needs.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt teaching strategies and approaches to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Qualifications: While not essential, relevant qualifications or training in SEN support would be beneficial.
