Stores / Warehouse Operative, Based: Avonmouth, Bristol, Salary: £12ph + overtime @ time & half, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, life insurance and career development opportunities.

We have an opportunity for a Stores Person / Warehouse Operative to join the market leading provider of Portable cabins, Secure Storage Solutions, Modular buildings and associated products. The yard operation stores, builds, prepares and refurbishes units ready for hire or sale. Applicants will ideally have experience in a Stores Operative / Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver role. Forklift or PPT experience is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.

*The official job title for this role is a Materials Runner.

Stores Person / Warehouse Operative Main Tasks:

  • Identify materials requirements by speaking with operatives and deliver materials to work bays.
  • Closely monitor the completion of units, and execute a quick change-over of units into work bays and paint shop.
  • Read production plans that outlines orders in which units will be worked upon and ensuring the associated work bay has all the required materials.
  • Maintain a well-stocked / orderly keeping of materials within the workshop.
  • Operate an electric pallet truck to carry out duties.
  • Empty skips from work bays
  • Cleaning of units and fittings internally and externally & any other ad hoc duties

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in a Stores Operative / Stores Person, Warehouse Operative, Forklift Driver or similar role.
  • Preferably able to drive an electric pallet truck and counterbalance forklift truck, though not essential as full training can be provided.
  • Knowledge of materials, tools, workshop operations desirable.
  • Good attitude and willingness to learn.
