Transport Administrator

Taskmaster Recruitment are looking for a Transport Administrator to work for our client based at their office in Deeping St James.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan shipments based on product availability and customer requests.
  • Route plan and schedule ad hoc deliveries on our own vehicle service.
  • Handles distribution to ensure that goods are delivered on time.
  • Booking in deliveries with customers to ensure optimal delivery arrangements.
  • Monitor carrier systems to ensure customers’ orders are on track for delivery.
  • Maintain and update spreadsheets for customer/company reports.
  • Work with recruitment companies to hire drivers as and when required.
  • Prepare delivery and dispatch paperwork as required.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to customer enquiries through multiple shared inboxes.
  • Handle incoming calls from internal and external customers.

Key Skills/Attributes:

  • Logistics/transport background would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Good Geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Confident and professional listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills, handling multiple tasks with a sense of pace and urgency.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm

Pay rate: £27,000PA
