Waste Facility Operative

Unloading wheeled bins or sacks from vehicles, loading our waste incinerator (where difficult waste is securely destroyed) via conveyor belt and bin lift, sweeping, driving forklift trucks once trained... All part of the busy job of Waste Facility Operative at our modern facility in Colnbrook, near Heathrow. Like to join the team working 4-on-4-off hours? What you’ll be doing as Waste Facility Operative

This is a varied and practical job that would suit someone used to shift work and working with hazardous materials.  Your duties will include identifying waste types and assisting with the moving and storage of waste, keeping a steady stream of waste loaded into the incinerator, booking in loads over the weighbridge (like a large set of scales) when cover is required, backing in vehicles once we've trained you up, and keeping the plant tidy.

- Strong team worker 

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- A 'health and safety first' attitude 

- Willingness to work in uncomfortable and hot conditions - e.g. wearing protective clothing

Please note: A DBS check (criminal record check) is required for this job

Working hours: Shift system of 4 days or nights on followed by 4 days or nights off. Your average working rostered week will be 42.12 hours, starting your day shift at 7am and finishing at 7pm; and night shift, 7pm to 7am
